AMANDA ORMOND, PRINCIPAL
Raised and educated in New England, Amanda’s passion for science and the natural world led her to study Environmental Earth Science and earn a B.S. at Mary Washington College in Virginia.
Upon graduation, she moved West, settling in Arizona. In her first job working for a consulting firm she learned project management and customer service. Accepting a position with the Arizona Energy Office, a division of the Department of Commerce in 1987, she worked her way up to appointed State Energy Office Director in 1995. Amanda was the youngest Energy Office Director in the country and one of the longest serving in Arizona.
In 2001, Amanda left state service to launch the Ormond Group LLC. As a consultant, the Ormond Group LLC has been hired to represent interests of businesses and non-profit organizations in government processes, develop and lobby for legislative and regulatory policy agendas, manage and lead collaborations of diverse interests to find common ground and strategic direction, translate technical energy concepts for decision makers and lay audiences, create educational outreach programs, and support adoption of regional energy markets and technologies to reach a 100% carbon-free electric sector.
Amanda is a trained mediator, seasoned communicator, proficient writer, effective speaker, strategic thinker and creative.
